THE DEFINITIONS ABOVE WERE DEVELOPED AND APPROVED FOR USE BY THE ARCHDIOCESE OF NEW ORLEANS.
BISHOP FABRE APPROVED THEM FOR USE BY THE DIOCESE OF HOUMA-THIBODAUX IN 2015.
The Houma-Thibodaux Diocesan Office of The New Evangelization is here to serve all parishes, schools and/or ministries in the diocese to reach their particular vision, goals and/or strategies directed toward the evangelization of others. This service does not have to be a high-profile production or a program of great effort. Parishes are now evangelizing in so many ways. Parish bulletins clearly evidence that.
Evangelization services offered by this office in a parish are so much more about:
It is not unusual, even with the best of personal intentions, for our minds to be full of fears and doubts that keep us from effectively evangelizing. We all feel so inadequate - especially due to our own individual flaws and imperfections and the storms raging around us. Even the apostles dealt with that and those insecurities.
Regardless, Jesus commissioned the Church to:
"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” (Matt 28: 19-20)
