Eight months before Hurricane Ida, the parishioners of Maria Immaculata were celebrating the completion of a major renovation of their beloved church. But the ferocious winds and torrential rains of the hurricane left the newly renovated building severely damaged, casting a shadow over the hopes of the faithful at Maria Immacolata and across the diocese. On Sunday, May 11, as the church doors opened once again, the community rejoiced in a symbol of resilience, faith, and unity.
