The iGiveCatholic campaign is a 24-hour online crowdfunding effort to support the work of our church parishes, Catholic schools, diocesan ministries, and other charitable organizations affiliated with the diocese.
iGiveCatholic is held each year in conjunction with GivingTuesday, which is celebrated nationally on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year charitable giving.
The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux has joined with the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Diocese of Baton Rouge, Diocese of Biloxi, Diocese of Jackson, and Diocese of Austin to participate in iGiveCatholic. On GivingTuesday, November 29, Catholics can go to the iGiveCatholic website and click on a specific ministry listed there to make a donation.
Thirty organizations from across the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux are participating, including all thirteen Catholic schools, nine church parishes, and eight ministries - such as Catholic Charities, seminarian education, the Bayou Catholic, Lumen Christi Retreat Center, and our diocesan strategic planning.
The goal of the iGiveCatholic Giving Day is to inspire our Catholic community to come together in continuing to support the organizations that support us: our parishes, schools, and ministries. We invite you to visit https://igivecatholic.org/groups/diocese-of-houma-thibodaux to learn more about this exciting day and how you can contribute to the ongoing life of our diocese.
