Representatives of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux announced today that the Mary and Al Danos Family Foundation has granted the diocese $150,000 for the purchase and implementation of a new financial management system, replacing accounting software that is now nearing 20 years old.
This past week, Bishop Fabre traveled to Rome with other bishops from the Louisiana area to meet with Pope Francis and present a report on the state of our diocese. This was Bishop Fabre's first time meeting with Pope Francis.
The results of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux’s #iGiveCatholic are in! With more than 1,600 donors, a total of $461,368 was raised for our local community during the 24-hour online giving event held on #GivingTuesday (December 3, 2019). The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux raised the second highest figure of all Louisiana dioceses, and was ranked within the top ten nationally.
Maria Immacolata Catholic School has educated generations of families in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux for over a half century. However, despite its history and very strong legacy, over the last several years the student enrollment and economic vitality of the school have fallen to a level that is no longer sustainable.
