Bishop Fabre grants the faithful of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux dispensation from the obligation to abstain from eating meat for the remaining Fridays in Lent (4th and 5th weeks).
“I invite all the Heads of Churches and the leaders of all the Christian Communities, together with all the Christians of the various Confessions, to invoke the Most High, Almighty God, reciting contemporaneously the prayer that Jesus Our Lord taught us. I invite all, therefore, to do so several times a day, but, all together, to recite the Our Father on Wednesday, March 25, at midday – all together.”
After much consideration, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux has decided to modify the distribution programs at the Good Samaritan Food Bank in Thibodaux, the Good Samaritan Food Bank in Raceland, and the Catholic Community Center in Galliano to protect the community, volunteers, and staff during this time of pandemic concern and national emergency declaration.
