Catholic Foundation of South Louisiana is joining arch/dioceses and Catholic foundations across the country for the sixth annual #iGiveCatholic campaign, a day held annually on #GivingTuesday.
The annual Blue Mass for police, firefighters, emergency responders and members of the military, will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, Thibodaux. The annual Red Mass, for legal professionals and their staffs, will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, Thibodaux.
During these difficult times, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux has been working hard to identify the areas of greatest need in our communities, and making sure that the most vulnerable among us are safely receiving those needed services. Catholic Charities is teaming up again with Second Harvest Food Bank of New Orleans for another drive-through emergency food distribution event this week.
In the early morning hours of Monday, September 14, 2020, someone entered the Amelia Cemetery (St. Andrews Catholic Church cemetery) and vandalized/desecrated graves. We are deeply saddened and shocked by the repugnant behavior which occurred in the Catholic Cemetery in Amelia where recently there was the desecration of graves.
